Formica is small. Its name is the word for “ant” in Italian. This 4 square acre private island houses one of the Mondo X communities of Padre Eligio. This once abandoned Mediterranean island has been beautifully restored by the “boys and girls” of the community. Formica is one of the Egadi Islands, which lies off the west coast of Sicily, a one half hour boat ride from Trapani.
